My friends and I needed a place to stay for 1 night in Anchorage before heading home and the Westmark had everything that we required. It’s right downtown, so very walkable to anything you could want/need. We just happened to stay the night of the summer solstice and were a quick 1 minute walk to where the solstice festival was being held. Very close to shops and food as well.

Little busy at check in and we got a different room than what we reserved - seemed like a computer issue. Staff was very friendly. Room was good and very clean. A bit noisy at night with train horn and people shouting outside through the night. Bed was very comfy.

The absolute most noisy stay in Anchorage. Granted it was the people out on the streets and not the hotel’s fault. It quieted down eventually. The lady who checked us in knew nothing about where to go for cruise ship transport which was two blocks up the street. And she said she had been working there 20 years. Wasn’t willing find out.

the room was completely different than what was pictured in the website. the bathroom was basically a closet the phone tv and air conditioner didnt work. we whent and talked to the desk and got upgraded to the 11th floor. the room was exactly the same other than the chairs were different color. the restaurant is closed for the summer and no breakfast was provided like advertised. no sleep because there was vary loud street racing all night

I choose this hotel because it was priced fairly reasonably for downtown Anchorage hotel summer prices. However, the cost wasn't as reasonable as I thought. First of all the website should not bury the notice that parking is $40/day. Turns out with the parking cost superseded the cost savings. Secondly, the wash cloth that house keeping so painstakingly decorated was on the bathroom counter soaking wet. Finally, I have to say the bed was extremely comfortable.

An old run down hotel

Unfortunately this hotel is very old and run down. The rooms are old and have a musky smell. Balcony doors need a lot of effort to open and close and the furniture fit out is scratched up etc. Its a shame to see the breakfast dinning staff make the effort of wiping the tables between customers but not so good to see them wipe the dirt from the table directly to the floor, which is carpet. Alot of road noise as again the windows / doors do not seal correctly. No in house faclities so to speak of which is also a shame for the size of this hotel. The reception staff wore friendly but the experience overall was poor. Hotel is located centrally in downtown.
