This was a very cool old building in a perfect location- 4 minute walk to Duomo. It reminded us of staying in an old mansion. The rooms were large and the patio was great. The only negative I would say is that it is very sparse for such a beautiful building. Just adding a few more touches would make it seem perfect.

The building was about 600 years old and was beautiful for its architecture that said the hot water did not work and the bed was broken upon our arrival and building is operated by a third party over all 3/5

5 (five) gates with keys to get into your room- endless steps to get to room makes this hard to recommend. The price was less expensive than others I stayed at and the location was excellent, however the lack of ammenties and ridiculous amount of keys and locks to go thru and the endless steps make it a 2 star at best. P.S. main door is very difficult to open as you have to slam into door with full force if your body to push it open.

The mosquitos made it unbearable. We were each bitten over 15 times during our stay while we slept. The staff did provide extra pillows upon request and they did pour bleach down the shower after the septic smell occurred after showering.

Check-in and communication were great. The accommodations were spacious but the beds were very uncomfortable. We had some difficulties with windows not closing properly and mosquitoes in the room at night that bothered our children. No food was allowed in the room which limits your use of the space - provision of better coffee and more than one serving for multiple nights of stay would be appreciated. The shower leaked.

Shower drain is slow, broken and shower easily overflowed into the bathroom. Temperature control in shower is poorly placed and easy to move by accident causing unexpected temperature change. Also, temp control of shower was erratic. Entry to room from street was exceptionally long and involved many stairs. No elevator available. No daily room service. Poorly lit inside room.

Bathroom was not properly clean upon arrival. Water leaked out when showering, making a big mess. Extremely loud area in the evening. We had no water for a few hours in the morning until we got a hold of someone to come fix it. The windows could use a mosquito net; I got bit many times. Unsafe, heavy metal gate with a piece sticking out hit my food and I almost broke my toe when it swung open. Incredibly, one of the rules is not to eat in the room even though there’s a fridge available. Absurd. The location is fantastic which is why we picked it but I’d stay somewhere else next time.

Extremely loud. All night long. NO LUGGAGE STORAGE - despite the expedia ad stating it’s one of the perks. Ruined the trip having to find storage, lost my timed Uffizi ticket. Let's start with positives. The property is in a great location for accessing everything from transportation to food to shopping to major attractions. Now the rest. There was supposed to be an elevator but we couldn't find it. Every door we opened contained a little stairway to nowhere. So we had to drag our luggage up 80 stairs. No food allowed in the room - at all. This is news! A strange rule. The sewer smell was overpowering so they came and poured bleach down the drain which lasted through our stay. However the A/C noise was unbelievably loud, like a pair of dog grooming clippers through an amplifier. We let them know but nothing changed. The room didn't look like the photos. The bathroom was cramped with no place to set things down and one corner of the shower has mold and yuck. The staff were very nice and we give them the benefit of the doubt for the other things. I'm sure they don't make policy! Would not stay here again

2 minutes after getting into the room all the power went out in the building, then we had no water or power - I was able to reach the desk (even though it was just after 6) and they said they would get back to me after talking to the owner. No one contacted me again that night. after multiple calls to the number and texts to the what’s app number there was no response and we had no water. We had to spend our dinner calling other hotels and we ended up paying over double to move to a new hotel at midnight. In the morning we went to the desk and asked for a refund, they said Expedia had to refund us, so we contacted Expedia but now the owner is saying that we can’t have a refund even though we did not stay even one night. We think the owner should be responsible to refund us and cover the difference in cost we had to pay for a last minute hotel in peak season or they should be removed from expedia so that customers can trust they won’t be scammed.
