Cheap and cheerful. I found it to be easy and in an excellent location, people were friendly and the space was remarkably quiet day and night time.

Great, stayed 6 nights. All was quiet except for the first night, someone with definite issues walking the place. More than a great deal in Manhattan for a solo female. Wonderful subway access, area

It was a really nice place and a great location. I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought that the staff were really helpful. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t a luxury stay but it did the job, and I can’t complain! Would recommend to solo travellers who are looking to visit New York on a budget.

The staff was great!
The cleanliness was ok...restocking TP seemed to be an issue
The noise level was a bit too much at some points
The outlets were TERRIBLE. My electronics kept falling out!

During all interactions I had with the staff everyone was super welcoming and respectful. The building itself had a cool atmosphere and the room I stayed in was clean. Although You can hear pretty much everything going on around you as there is no roof to your individual room, most people were respectful and kept noise down

Strange having to be so quiet. Not allowed to have visitors. Bathrooms and showers were clean.
Bed was comfortable. Lounge was very nice.
This an actual old time flop house. Not that there are old drunks flopping for the night, there were polite travelers. Nice staff good location to Soho and Lower East Side bars.

For a solo traveler, this is a big step up from a hostel dorm bed. Great location! The common spaces are charming and comfortable. All the basics — bed, linens, shared bathrooms — are good, not great.

The location is in Lower Manhattan Soho area. Easy to walk around. Clean and other guests are amazing travelers. I stayed on the women-only floor. There were 2 occasions where a Man wandered in. I just told both of them that this is women-only floor. I felt it was important due to the accessibility of the community showers. Both men apologized and obliged. Front desk service, Steven and Edgar are real Angels and absolute professionals. I would stay again and recommend. It's small rooms, but for a safe, easily accessible, and quiet place in NYC for a solo traveler, it is fantastic.

Basic accommodation, unable to make noise in pods, however, great price. Considering the price it was great!

You basically pay the price for the location. The room is only for a small bed. You could hear all the sounds of the whole floor, no noise canceling.

This s an unusual place. The rooms are like little cubby holes. Absolute no frills. Just a bed. But comfortable. There is no ceiling, so one hears every snorer, and sounds. But the rooms are safe. Checking in was

Stays at hostels are challenging for Americans with very thin wall in this one. The snoring can be quite loud along with conversations in the common spaces just outside the bed cells.
